Beypore is a small and beautiful coastal town. It is about 11 km south of Calicut city. About 80 buses are plying between calicut and Beypore. Chaliyar river is running along the northernmost part of Beypore and enters the Arabian sea. Beypore is well known by its fame in mechanized, traditionally built wooden boats rather ships which is famous all around the world.

Many of the natives are engaged in fishing and boat building. Poeaple are mainly middle class and they belong to different religions such as Hindus, Muslims and Christians.

Boat construction yards, Pulimut, Chaliyar river and boat journeys are very joyful in Beypore.
